Mr. Cadbury and his chicks

Here comes Peter Cottontail. Hoppin down the bunny trail. Hippity Hoppity Easter’s on its way!

I have been wanting to do a session with baby chicks and bunnies for a long time. It screams spring and Easter and precious babies! But where on earth do you find baby chicks and bunnies? If you happen to have a very best friend building a chicken coop then it is your lucky day! And it was most certainly mine!

It is difficult enough to get babies and toddlers to look at the camera, but try slouching bunnies and hungry chicks! I have to admit that I was a little worried about my vision coming to life… and being rained on the weekend before was not the best start…but OH MY GOODNESS if I did not have the most gorgeous children and the best animal models!

It was truly one of the best afternoons! Thanks to all the moms and dads for braving the challenge with me! And a special shout out to “chick-chick,” “rocket” (Liam’s name for one of the chicks which is better than the initial pick-pocket) and “Mr. Cadbury” himself!

And I would not have been able to make this happen without the incredible generosity of Sayler and Greg for opening their home, sharing their animals and holding a few props! Thanks for everything!

Glimpses Week 12

This week was a special week for kate robinson photography and the chic critique glimpses project as my rodeo image from last week was the chosen image highlight! Totally made my day! Go and check it out!

Our furry family member loves his baths and since the birth of our son, it seems that Tucker’s baths have been few and far between. It was bathtime and the perfect weather outdoors to bring out a bucket and waterhose! Tucker was sure grateful and had an extra pep in his step! We all love our baths…

Glimpses Week 11.5

This week calls for a double dose of glimpses! On Wednesday afternoon, we took off work and headed to the rodeo with the boys.  We ate fried food and let cotton candy melt on our tongues. We met a few pigs and some cows. We rode ponies and tractors and a wagon… and maybe we didn’t get to ride on the Ferris Wheel just yet, but they boys were flying high on one of the free rides at the rodeo… and couldn’t have been happier!

don’t forget to check out the others in the chic critique forum later this week!

Glimpses Week 11

It is unmistakable when the stomach bug hits your house. There is nothing worse than a sick little one. A little one that doesn’t really understand being sick. Sometimes being wrapped in daddy’s arms with the distraction of Mickey and best friend tucked by your side is the best medicine.

And 24 hours later… the bug was gone! (check out chic critique for more everyday glimpses)

Ellen - I’m so blessed that my much loved second daughter is also an extremely talented photographer. Thanks for sharing these sweet family moments that we’d normally never see. Our son with his son…priceless! Love you, KRob!

Amy Hoogstad - Love the emotion in this image. Parent snuggles ARE the best medicine:)

Pinkies up!

It poured… for 3 whole days. Our vision of a an outdoor tea party amongst the trees quickly became a tiny corner on a blanket indoors, but it worked. There was lace. There was princess music. There was laughter and most of all there was lip gloss! The key to a young girl’s heart. These four little ladies let me into their dream world of pinkalicious (yes, I am learning the new girltalk). Each and every one of them had such personality… even little Miss S herself! I was truly inspired by their beauty and those eyes…. those eyes that go right through you… Thanks for a whirlwind morning of unexpected beauty … There were no gloomy clouds that I could see!
